about the dog department at Pet Refuge
*Come to the shelter on Wednesday, September 08th for our debut and share in our "New Beginnings"
|
Well, you have read our stories and we are ready to give up our past from the hoarding situation we were in and move on to a bright future in a new home. In the last month, we have learned how fun it is to play with other dogs, fetch a ball, lay on furniture and a bed. We are more than willing to walk on a leash and receive attention and treats for learning how to sit, lay down, heel and more. The Pet Refuge/Camp K-9 volunteers have started the process and we hope that you will fall in love with one of us and allow one of us to become your loving, family member.

Cleaning Volunteers needed!
If you enjoy being around dogs, make a "New Year's resolution" right now and volunteer with us! We could really use your help! We are in need of volunteers to help on cleaning shifts, to take care of the dogs that stay at our shelter. A commitment of 2-4 hours, one day a week, is all they need and you would be making a big difference in their lives. We especially need morning and afternoon help on the shifts. Please email us or call our shelter (574-256-0886) if you can help. |
Foster Homes needed! The dog department is also in need of foster homes for puppies and adult dogs waiting for their forever homes to come along. Foster homes are important to the dogs as you will be helping them to learn obedience and housebreaking skills (if needed). Puppy foster homes are especially needed as we have many litters of pups on our waiting list that we cannot take in. Puppies need more monitoring and we do not like them to have to stay at the shelter. Adult dogs will also benefit from being in a foster home as it is less stressful than the shelter can be. If you are interested in becoming a foster family, please email us or call our shelter at 574-256-0886. Pet Refuge provides all medical and food costs. |
